Panel Discussion And Presentation By Trainetics At The Future Surgery Conference For The Royal College Of Surgeons.
Trainetics faculty member Prof Paul Bowie was invited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England to attend their Future Surgery conference on 15-16th November 2021 at the ExCel centre in London.
On Day 1, Paul took part in a lively expert panel discussion on Human Factors progress in healthcare, followed on Day 2 by his well-received presentation on the need for Human Factors integration at all levels of policy, education and practice.
A significant element of Paul’s talk focused on the need to develop a shared understanding of Human Factors in healthcare, and he challenged surgical leaders, educators and practitioners to look out for prevailing myths, misunderstandings and fallacies that still circulate about the discipline’s purpose and approach. A large number of delegates have followed up with him to find out more and seek a sense-check on their own Human Factors practices and teaching.
