NIKKI BIGGS

Nikki is a Consultant in both adult and paediatric Emergency Medicine at Frimley Park. Having trained in both the UK and New Zealand, she has developed particular interests in Public and Global Health and holds a Diploma in Tropical Medicine. Following this, she undertook two long-term placements in Zanzibar working with a local charity. These placements and an on-going commitment to the charity continue to provide unique challenges both technically and non-technically and have fuelled her passion further for medical education.

She is committed to medical education locally and is a Faculty member on several national resuscitation courses including the ETC (European Trauma Course) and the mMOET Course (Managing Medical and Obstetric Emergencies and Trauma). She has more recently been involved as faculty on the East African Diploma in Tropical Medicine.

Nikki has always been interested in the unique skill set required by those in Emergency Medicine and more specifically, how that evolves on becoming a Registrar and then a Consultant. How we prepare for these roles, remain current and advance our skills, remain areas she is passionate about and continues to advocate for.
