MATTEO DeMARTINO

Matteo is a locum Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust as well as being one of the founding faculty for Trainetics.

Having worked in the NHS for over 10 years, Matteo is passionate about improving patient safety ‘on the shop floor’, day to day, while also approaching leadership and transformation projects in a way that utilises human factors and systems thinking in their foundations.

Matteo has taught Human Factors and non-technical skills within the NHS since 2016, utilising a mix of formats ranging from high and low fidelity simulation to facilitative plenaries aimed at building understanding and enthusiasm within healthcare practitioners around the topics of human factors, systems and Just Culture.

As well as being a Trainetics faculty member, Matteo is a member of his local PROMPT faculty (a MDT training scheme for obstetric emergency skills), was part of the education team at the Nightingale Hospital London and undertook his simulation trainer qualifications at University College Hospital, London.
