ETHEL OLDFIELD

Ethel is a Human Factors & Ergonomist Specialist and a Registered Midwife with over 16 years’ experience in healthcare. She has a background in safety investigations, training, patient safety & risk management. As well as conducting safety investigations, Ethel also provided Human Factors support to the HSIB Investigations and has delivered Human Factors training to a range of professionals.

She has worked on projects such as service evaluation and inclusivity, understanding workloads in complex environments as well as collaborative working with national organisations in improving patient safety. Ethel has an MSc in Human Factors from Loughborough University and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics & Human Factors.
